This is a brno semi that my mother in law gave me last year.

When transfering it ,it was unclear what the model was and therefore registered as a model of which i cannot remember.funny how the reg certs don't list a model number.

It was origionally in my father in laws collection,so it could be fairly old or a model from 10years back.

1:What model is it?

2:Is it a current model?

3:If not current,Are there mags stillavailable for it?

4:The build quality looks very good,Is this known as a quality rifle?

Looks like either a BRNO 581 or the later CZ511. Model number will be marked on top of the barrel, date should be on the left side of the receiver and barrel. The 581 will have 16mm dovetail, the 511 will have an 11 mm dovetail. Out of production and parts are hard to come by. Definitely good quality. Lots of info on the rimfirecentral site.

Is this what the receiver looks like ? If so, it is CZ built using the BRNO name and it is a CZ model 511. Parts are hard to come by, but not impossible, and mags can be found, but they are not cheap.

Thanks for the responses, looks like i'll have to remove the scope rail to see.I was surprised the woman at cfc didn't want me to remove it to find out.She was nice enough to not require it as she knew it woud ruin the zero.A couple of these lomg arms that were handed down to me had to be stripped to find out s/n and identification markings while i was on the phone with her. This brno was the only one we couldn't easily identify.

On a side note,I have taken it to the range only to find out that the scope is bunk anyways.Go figure, the windage knob just spins freely with no positive clicks of any kind.

Looks to me like it says made in Czecheslovakia on the receiver which would make it a BRNO model 581,

Not a current model

Mags are only available from private sales and are very expensive.

This is a top quality semi auto rimfire, damn accurate. I have one as well as the more recent model a CZ 511. The mags from these rifles are interchange able. Mags hold 8 rounds.

try pushing in or pull out the knob on the scope to see if that changes
any thing, also see if the screw lose or missing.

Thanks for the replies.

It is a cz 511 ,which i think is what it is registered as.

The scope windage knob itself seems broken as it just turns freely, have replaced it with a fixed 4 power for now to see what it groups like.

The mount itself seems to be adjustable for side to side at the rear, however I don't trust the scope that was on it to hold zero.
