Help identifyinh this milsurp rifle

$400 would be a fair price - the creat is what sells these and you have a nice one. The VZ24 was made for many countries and come in various conditions. They can range from $200 (Chinese contract) to $2500 (German k98 conversion).

You could even ask 1-2 bones more than $400 and probably get it.

The crest is called the "Rampant Lion." It is part of the Czech coat of arms.

Please correct me if my memory fails but I think the rampant lion crests were discontinued after the Germans took over the factories.

Many of the Rampant Lion VZ24s went to Romania as well.

Correct, the rampant lion was Czech and VZ 24 rifles produced under German occupation had no crest. Most of the VZ 24 rifles available now are scrubbed refurbs and have no crests and parts mismatched. I would think a VZ 24 with crest and matching parts would fetch $500-$600 in good condition. The left side of the receiver ring looks like it has an E37 which is a code for 1937 acceptance date by the Czech army. Nice rifle.
