Hi guys,

I have a Tavor Gen 1 which they also call IDF (might be gen 1.5 ... correct me if I'm wrong).

This is what I got :

And I'd like to have more optic option by either finding a gas tube assembly with the rear flip up sight or a flat tube gas assembly so I can either change the rail or just run optic from the existing rail without having the rear sight in the way.

I imagine I'm not the only one who has lived this and I have looked but did not find a adequate solution to my problem.

I have been suggested to buy the IWI SAR/X95 tube assembly but it specifically says it will not work with the IDF version.
And I am not really keen on adding another rail to raise my optics beyond the rear sight if I can help it.

So anyone have a suggestion, solution or just plain lived this and found a solution that is both efficient and practical ?

Any help would be greatly appreciate it.

Oh and if you did replace your gas tube assembly and not using it then I would like to buy/trade for it (to give me option which might include a Dremel which I will not admit to). Mouhahaha ...cough cough ;)

Thanks again

Cheers,

I'm pretty sure by that they mean you won't be able to use the original fixed optic - which can be removed. You'd have to get an IWI full length rail kit to put on over it but it should fit just fine. Just make sure you get all associated hardware: You'll need adapters for the gas block rails and the hook that screws in where the front sight would go, etc.

If you do decide to get rid of the original gas tube with plastic rear sight, let me know, I've been looking for one!
