HELP - Lost Tikka T3x Optiloc Limiter Pin and Plastic Inserts

Hello,

I just received my beautifully Cerakoted Tikka T3x one-piece rings today. Unfortunately, the rings came back without the plastic ring inserts and the "limiter pin". I have two questions:

1) How critical is the "limiter pin"? Can the ring still be effective without this pin? The rifle is a .308 win and so it is a light kicker.

2) Can anybody direct me to a vendor/individual who I may be able to purchase replacement inserts and/or limiter pin from.

I already contacted the vendor I purchased the rings to see if they could help (btw, great company - Precision Optics). Unfortunately, I was told that Berretta is notorious for not offering replacement parts for scope mounts - i.e., they are unable to order replacements for me.


While I haven't contacted the Cerakote vendor yet to see if they can find these missing pieces (they are closed), I am fearing the worst.

I would get ahold of your cerakote guy first and foremost as it sounds like he should have a bin of your parts before going any further. The rings will likely have enough clamping force but best not leave it to chance. The rings are no good to you without the urethane inserts though

What are limiter pins?

Limiter pin is a post that sticks out of the bottom of the ring base that mates with a hole on Tikka T3x rail - it’s for alightment and for recoil.
