Hey everybody.
I have a Mossberg 930 shotgun, and I love it. But I NEED more guns, and I want a rifle, but where do I start? I want something I will be able to hunt with, so I needs enough power to take down a deer, or bigger. But I also want to just be able to take out a target from fairly long distance.

So I'm thinking center fire, but other than that I have NOTHING!
Oh yeah, lets keep the price fairly reasonable, as in well under the $1000 mark out of the box.
And I like stuff that not everyone out there has, hence why my shotgun is a Mossberg and NOT a Remington.

Thank you

Any of the standard cal 25-06 to 300 win mag all seem to kill clean. as for a different gun, a Vangaard might be a look at. I have a Parker Hale in 300win I would sell, but think u should see & fell & fit the guns first. AJ

If your centerfire shooting experience is limited I would suggest you do not go larger than .30/06. You haven't said what type of action you prefer, but if you check with Tradex you'll see that you can get a Husqvarna bolt gun in 6.5X55 for very very reasonable money. If you go this route stick to the M-1600's rather than converted military rifles. Topped off with a moderately priced variable scope in good mounts a Husky will prove to be a very accurate and capable big game rifle.

Go with a .270 since your in the .270 or less zone for small game. Then you can shoot coyotes, fox or anything else in season. Savage makes some nice shooters in the $500 range then you just need a scope Bushnell 3200 elites are around $250 for a 3x9x40.
