A freind of mine bought a house in a rural area and he find this gun in a wardrobe. It's a break action, single shot shotgun. The barrel is marked "32 GAUGE SPECIAL" and the receiver "CAP-CHUR POWDER PROJECTOR PALMER CHEMICAL & EQUIPMENT CO. INC."
I already found that it is a gun used by farmers to shoot darts. Can it shoot other type of shotgun ammo? How does it Worth? It is very clean.

I suspect 32ga was used for proprietary reasons. The dart is a nasty thing - wouldn't want an injection done with one.
The launching blank must have used black powder. I have one; the rifled bore has a fair bit of pitting.

Good memories as a C.O. chasing bears around Sudbury and area with a .32 Cap-Chur in hand and a 12 gauge riot gun over my back on a sling OR if the bear was big and/or aggressive the guns would be switched. Yes it is a true 32 gauge and is in between a .410 and a 28 gauge. It fired, in this case, a custom, operator hand load of various drugs, amounts and charges given the weights and species and distance that you are shooting at. It is/was a variation of the New England/H and R single shot shot gun with a rifled bore and open sights. Some times it worked---sometimes not--then things could and often did go sideways, THEN your 12 gauge and your .40 USP were your two best friends!

We could rent one of those from the Vet when I farmed in Alberta. I notice the that model is made by NEF and made into a 32 gauge or NEF made it for the company. Have seen an old Cooey in the same format .
