Help me identify this Parker Hale please

In my humble opinion, it’s not a 1200c. The metal pieces could be; or it’s a later Safari model with the side safety. What really puzzles me is the stock. The 1200c had much nicer Walnut stocks, with a Rosewood forend tip; most had a gold trigger. This stock appears to be made of a softwood, almost home made. It’s a bit of a mystery.

So mine in post #16 is a 1200c…. Is it a safari???

I am not completely certain from the various Parker Hale catalogues - and I am missing several years of them - but is as if "Safari" was used as a model name, and then some years later would see ads for 1000, 1100 and 1200 in either hinged floor plate or "clip" versions. Is part of the mystery to me - I have not seen ads yet where both the "Safari" model name - or the variations that were used like Safari De Luxe or Super Safari - and a model number, used in the same ad. Has been several Parker Hale rifles here with "Safari" word on the stampings on left side of the receiver - only one that I have with a model number is a 1200TX, and that is stamped on top of the barrel - was made for PALMA competition held at Connaught Ranges near Ottawa, so that shoot was in 1969 - so that 1200TX had to be made that year or year before?

I have another one here - chambered in 308 Norma Magnum - 24" barrel - skip line checkering on pistol grip and fore-arm - hinged floor plate - rosewood appearing forearm tip and pistol grip cap - gold or brass coloured trigger - very much like is shown in picture in Post #16, except mine does not have a "clip" - I was led to believe that it is a Parker Hale Model 1200 - but I could be corrected about that.

Maybe to "eat some words" from my Post #44.

From Parker Hale Catalogue No.68 (1968?) Can see they used both the "Safari" word and a Model Number in these ads?

Then from Parker Hale catalogue No. 76/77 - not using the "Safari" word any more?

They may have dropped it, god knows PH made a LOT of different models. I had always thought that the "C" in the model designation stood for "clip', that is a detachable magazine. Now I'm not so sure. - dan

I think that you are correct about the "C" in the name - they called it a "clip" - so can see in third picture that I posted - a Model 1200C has a clip - if it has a hinged floor plate, it is a Model 1200. I have found ads for 1000 and 1000C, 1100 and 1100C, 1200 and 1200C

Further looking - in a Safari Arms Ltd. 1975 pamphlet ( I think they might have been Importers or re-sellers) I see an ad for Parker Hale "Super Clip" - I can not find that name in similar era Parker Hale catalogues - so maybe a "re-seller" name for a Parker Hale model of rifle?

And lower portion of that page of Safari Arms Ltd flier - is more model numbers than can shake a stick at - not found any of those numbers in Parker Hale ads.
