After doing some of my own online research and contacting Remington (a long shot - no pun intended - I know) I haven't been able to definitively ID the specific model of this Remington 700 I recently purchased. I'll attempt to attach some photos uploaded to Flickr.

It's a .308 sitting in a green-tan (ghille green from their website) Hogue stock, has a 26" fluted heavy barrel (non-threaded), oversized bolt knob similar to that of some of the 700P models and plain hinged floor plate.

Has a serial number G664###x and barrel stamp AB.

I'm not sure if it was an off-the-shelf purchase originally or if someone bought an action/barrel/barreled-action and it's a custom job.

Thanks in advance for any and all information.

XCR tactical long range with SPS tactical hogue stock maybe?

I thought XCR re-stocked as well initially, but the fluting is different. The XCR has 3 wide flutes from what I can see and this one I have has 6 thin flutes running to approximately 2” from muzzle.

How much do you have in to it? "Identify/Value" is a mixed message.
Have you shot it? Did you get any history with it? Does the scope give us any hints?
If a long range rifle is the scope consistent with the rifle?
Was it shot with factory or reloads?
Was it used for hunting or competition?
Are you planning to sell the rifle alone or with the scope/bases and rings?

Should have said identify, then value. The scope & rings were added after purchase by myself so have no bearing on the rest of the rifle. Mainly just looking for any info on what specific 700 model it might be.

You could try calling Remington, but not sure if anyone is answering the phones any more after the sell-off.

If you are going to shoot it I think it appears to be good and it will do you for a long time and you won't have to worry about what it really is.

If you decide to sell it then you will probably regret it but you won't have to worry about what it really is. Good luck!

You can email Remington with the serial number and they will reply with the factory specs matching that serial number including year of manufacture, I've done it a few times.

I’ve contacted Remington but not expecting a response with their recent situation.

I'm guessing it's a Rem 700 VSF. They were blued steel, fluted, jeweled bolt, came in a tan HS Precision stock. Someone has taken that stock off, likely swapped with a Rem 700 SPS Tactical AAC 16.5" which came with the Ghillie Green Hogue stock. The oversided bolt knob has been added after the fact
