Help me pick a semi auto 22? rifle?

230$ for a heavy barrel 597 to me was the winner. I really like the feel of the rifle, as it feels liek a full sized rifle. All others felt small in my hands. Generally 597 considered more accurate out of the box then 10/22 as well.

the 10/22 if you want accessories is just about your only god option. I don't plan on modding 597 much, but if I wanted a project to modify the 10/22 has unlimited possibility's. But you pay for it.

10/22 with a nice stainless barrle, or an SR-22. BC mags are great. Also, make sure you buy the BC mag loader it is essential when using BC mags - makes it super quick to load.

Re: Marlin 795

Good luck finding those hicap mags...my son has a 795 and has been looking for weeks, nothing available.
It is even tough finding the 10 rd oem mags.

It is a nice gun for the price though, he got it for something like $170 and it shoots just fine.

I got a marlin 60 for about 50 bucks more than that. There's no chance of a bigger mag of course, but the tube holds 14, and it's just so much more purdy than the 795, and shoots more accurately than I can.

I have the 10/22 clone sold by SFRC. Paid $215. Runs well and accuracy is better than expected. I bought some Ruger 10 round rotary mags for it plus some Butler creek steel lip 25 rounders. Have not had a jam yet.

It has a metal trigger group and a beefier man sized stock than the Ruger version.
