Just a little update on my first range session. I am waiting for a set of reloading dies in the mail, so I just bought 2 boxes of cheap factory ammo to get an idea of how it shot. Seeing as it is a Winchester, I got some 150 and 180 grain Winchester power-point loads (cheap..........$25 a box) and both of them shot really really well. I got a .95" five-shot group with the 150gr and a .81" five-shot group with the 180grain ammo. I used a lead sled to steady the gun. It was the WINDIEST DAY I've ever seen at the range, with gusts of 60kph and steady wind from at least 2 different directions of 30-40kph. Also, the backboard blew over twice ruining my group twice.
Anyhow, I'm MORE THAN IMPRESSED with the gun. I found recoil to be a bit stiff and sharp, but considering that it is a hunting gun and not a benchrest gun, who really cares. I don't even feel my .375 Ruger's recoil when I am standing and shooting at an animal...........................hell , now that I think about it, I don't remember HEARING any gun when I shot an animal yet. Love adrenaline!!!
P.S. I frigging LOVE this Minox scope. It is easily the clearest scope I have ever looked through. Seriously underrated glass.
