Hi folks,

I just purchased the Norinco NP22 and I am looking to buy more mags. It doesnt seem like I can find a single place that sells them, and if they do they're always sold out! Can anyone PLEASE help me with this?? I've been told old school sig mags fit but I cant even find those. Two magazines just simply isn't enough so if anyone out there can point me in the right direction for online purchases or anything like that it would greatly appreciated.

I thought NP22 mags were easy to find, hopefully I'm not mistaken.

Thank you to all that can help :)

Just my 2 cents...

I just picked up a Norinco NP22 from SFRC. I wanted something that I could abuse.
I also have a Sig 226 with 6 mags of various ages.

The Norinco NP22 mags fit the Sig 226 no problem. There's a bit of a gap, but only millimeters.

The Sig mags do fit the NP22, BUT they do NOT lock into place. The mags are just a bit too short.
I tested this by pulling apart both the Sig mags and the Norinco mags. Without the base plate on, the Sig mags will fit and lock into the NP22... it's just the base plate.

I figure if you 'tweaked' the mag catches on the sig mags, they'd fit no problem. I have yet to try this though.

Disclaimer:
This is just my 2 cents, I'm not a gun smith.

Hope this helps.

I have a couple Sig mags for my NP-22. Sympul's experience matches mine - they did not lock into place. The solution was fairly simple, I took a small file and expanded the magazine catch upwards by 1-2mm. Works with no issues.

Bumping this thread as I have been looking for NP22 mags for 2 years in vain. I dont want sig mags, would prefer to pick up the NP22's. Any leads would be awesome, as I have contacted every sponsor I can think of on CGN...

Update on the Sig mags in a Norinco:

I took a file to the bottom of my Norinco and took off a bit. Just hand filing, slow and steady. I'd take a couple of passes and then test with the Sig mag. If it didn't fit, I'd take a few more passes. Soon it clicked in. nice and smooth.

No wacking to get it to seat in the catch, no hard pressure... just a smooth slide and 'click'.

Now the Norinco NP22 takes it's own mags AND the spares I have for the Sig. Everything plays nice together.

(no I haven't tested it on the range)

$0.02.
