I'm looking at buying a Single Action .22lr revolver and have narrowed it down to two:

Ruger Single Ten 4-5/8" Stainless OR Uberti Stallion(1873 Cattleman) 10-shot 5.5" Case Hardened fixed sights.

Here's what I like about each....

Ruger: cylinder is indexed so holes are lined up with the ejector rod for easier/faster unloading (not sure if the Uberti does this)
38oz (vs 32oz Umberti)

Uberti: Beautiful case hardened finish (nicer than the Stainless IMO)
Fixed sights. (looks more traditional than the Williams Fire Sights. But these can be changed)

Ruger is about $75 more when all is said and done

Which would you buy....and no I'm not buying both:)

The Uberti is a closer copy of the Colt 1873,I have one in .45 Colt and really like it,I also have an older Ruger Single Six and it is a great little gun. You can't go wrong with either so it comes down to which feels and looks better for you.

I've handled the Ruger but not the Umberti. The internet shows the Umberti to be 7/8 scale. Not sure what that translate to.
I'm also moving towards the Umberti because of the classic sound of the 4-clicks.
Yes, it's going to be a tough decision....probably made this wknd.

Pancake81....how's your 4.2" Redhawk treating you?

The A. Uberti is nicer looking with the case hardening but I have found that the accurate replica grip is a bit small for my hands. You may want to handle them at the vet least befor you make a decision. And it is Uberti not Umberti.

The sights look much better on the Ruger. You can also by the looks of it change out the sights to something you prefer better. Although the case hardening does look darn good!

That's the problem....I handled the Ruger but only seen the Uberti online. Uberti's site indicates its a 7/8 scale. If the Uberti fits like the Ruger then I'd be ok with it. Hoping someone handled both....
boy does that look nice!

Uberti as I have a Cattleman .357 and love that gun

IMO the uberti looks better, once you remove the varnish on the grip and treat it with linseed oil

I would have to agree with you on the looks of the Uberti being better. However, I do like some of the modern features of the Ruger. The sights on the Ruger are really ugly but probably very functional. Since I shoot in good lighting and can't hunt with a HG I would change the sights.

I agree I really like that case hardening. Did you try wholesale sports. I know in Regina they stock them so you may luck out there if you have a wholesale sports.
