From PWS website and YouTube video reviews, it seems that MK1 have three versions MK1 Mod 0, MK1 Mod 1, and MK1 Mod 2. Are these the correct formal version names?

Some of the main differences from Mod 0 and Mod 1 are:
-Mod 1 comes with keymod handguard and gas adjustment on the topd side of the handguard rail.
-Mod 1 comes with long stroke piston that connected directly to the BCG
-enhanced buffer tube
Are these the correct?

I recently acquired one that sold as MK1 Mod 1. It has keymod handguard rail and enhanced buffer tube. However, it does not have long piston stroke that connected directly to the BCG and does not have gas adjustment on the top side of the rail. Which version is this??

Here is the info from PWS website: h ttp://primaryweapons.com/store/product/mk116-rifle/

Did you buy a full rifle or just an upper and was it new?

PWS has/had a DI version called the Modern Musket which didn't stick around for very long 'cause I think they went back to focus on the piston systems, the MK1 in 5.56 and MK2 in 7.62. If you bought a MK1, regardless of MOD version, it should have an adjustable gas block and a piston system with a rod attached to the bolt carrier. If your upper is a DI, it's either off a modern musket (did they even make it up to Canada?) or a homemade upper. I don't recall any MK series being DI.

So your bolt, piston and carrier does not look like the bottom one here?

I bought it as a whole rifle sold as MK116 Mod 1 (gen 2).

No! Not even close. That is why I am confused. I feel like I got Mod O (gen 1) with keymod rail and enhanced buffer tube. The first gen (Mod 0) does not come with keymod rail from what I understand.

It looks like I got the wrong rifle? !?

Looking at this blog, it looks like I got the modern musket one instead of piston h ttp://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2014/10/14/gun-review-primary-weapons-system-modern-musket-14-5-223-wylde/

They sent me the wrong one.

I don't know if they all do but every picture I've seen of the Modern Musket has this hammer logo on the magwell. Does yours?

No it doesn't. It has a small tube running above the barrel. This is a DI rifle for sure. Not the MK1 Mod 1 piston rifle as advertised.

Sounds like you got might have gotten burned by someone making up a rifle using a PWS lower, buffer tube and handguard and calling it a MK1.

Check the upper reciver. Is the rifle caliber laser etched into the upper receiver on the left side, just under the rail near the barrel?

Is there a PWS logo on the upper receiver on the flat rail area above the charging handle? Not sure if the first gens had this.

I'd be contacting the seller/store ASAP. Hopefully you did not pay over $1200. for it if that is the case.

Anyone who have lots of knowledge and or own PWS MK1 rifles, is there any design, physical, or mechanical difference on the complete lower receiver between MK1 mod 0 and MK1 mod 1?

Yes to both questions and I paid double than that. I will be calling them tomorrow.

There has been a few changes since the first gen, take a few pics and post them.
