Hey guys,

First off, this is the first time so I'm somewhat lost here.

Specifically i'm looking for suggestions as to what I need to buy so that I can attach my new scope to my rifle.

I think I need these:
http://www.nikonsportoptics.com/en/nikon-products//mounts-and-mounting-rings/p-series-mount.html#tab-ProductDetail-ProductTabs-RatingsReviews

But when I go to the Cabelas website it shows 2 options, either 30mm or 1", that's where I'm lost.

First off, are those the ones I need? Are there other options I can use?

Secondly, if I can support a sponsoring business on this forum I would much rather do that.

Thanks guys appreciate your help.

30mm or 1" refers to the diameter of the main tube body of the scope that you are going to mount. Look at the specs for your scope and see which it is. You can also use a 30mm mount on a 1" scope with the addition of 30mm to 1" reducer bushings, many scope mounts include these...

The options are for the size of the scope body. You need 1" rings for the P-223

I got the NIKON M-223 XR Mount for my Picatinny rail AR - I like the 1 piece better, but the 2 piece P-223 would be fine.

The 1 piece are like this

Ok thank you. I took a look the "Objective Diameter" is 32mm.

The objective diameter is the size of the objective lens on the front of the scope, not the scope body diameter. The measurement you need is the tube diameter. If you can’t find that in the manual or box go to Nikon’s web site for specs. FWIW, I like a one piece mount.

I picked up a set of these rings as they were on clearance at Cabelas. They would not slide onto my Phase 5 upper - and you have to slide these, as the mounts' outer body does not expand. They fit the pic rail on my hand guard, and it turned out I needed a riser for my upper anyways, so the rings fit the pic rail on the riser. The reviews are correct for these ones.
