I've got a buddy with troubles fitting a trigger back on his 700 P

If someone has a 700 with the stock off I need a decent close up pic of the trigger group .

Remington site has a lousy pic that's hard to see.
the trigger is in but bolt will not close it hits a piece sticking up about the trigger. ????

Any pics would be nice so we can see what/if we,ve done something wrong.
This rifle has had a trigger like this on it before. (Kelbly trigger)

thanks
Mike

aaahhh, as in backwards, turn it around, never even considered that. I made a trip to make coffee's and andy was just putting parts back down when i walked back in, maybe he's turned it around and i didn't know what to look for

I'll check, thanks

It doesn't get much simpler than a 700 trigger group. If you can't figure out what is stopping the bolt you shouldn't be taking anything apart. Look at it - what is stopping the bolt?.. figure it out... and then why is it doing that? Some possibilities - the safety is on, the bolt stop is jammed in place, the tang screw is sticking way up through the action, ??? I didn't go with the upside down bolt stop because no one would install it that way, would they?

didn't think is was up side down, though it might be back to front, is that possible? Its a Kelbly trigger. There was one on this rifle before. And when I take things apart i lay them out in order as they come apart so they go back together in the exact reverse order they came off. If he's shifted things while i was in the kitchen (he does these things) then i was propably just being stubborn and trying to put this back as i'd figured i'd left em.

If you can get the bolt in but it won't close then it could very well be the front action screw in to far.Make sure the action screws aren't switched by mistake. One is longer than the other.
