After many years I finally got some cash saved up, found and purchased a Webley Mk V in .455, in good working condition; but recently found out that Fiochi and Hornady are no longer producing .455 ammo :bangHead:

I am not able to set up reloading in my home, so i'm really between a rock and a hard place. If anyone here in Ottawa/Prescott region reloads this round, I would love to trade with you, or pay for some reloads to use at the range (Grenville Fish and Game) I have found 50 from another source out West, but would like to get more for obvious reasons.

I was taught to shoot with the Webley in the UK; and my Grandfather and Grand Uncle used them in WW1. (my mother ( WRNS in WW2) was trained to shoot them, and my Aunt (WAC) was too. The nostalgia factor was always there, but never had the cash for it, now the bloody ammo supply dries up. :(

Can'y beat the "good ole boys" of Cowboy action Shooting. I now have 3 boxes of smokeless and three of black powder ;-) Thank you...

455 Webly is currently available but not everyone stocks it. Our local gunshop is currently getting it in at $ 95 a box. A lot cheaper to reload it. Just picked up a S/W 455,which will be feed modified 45 Colt cases. 100 cases are about $100. Not a good idea to reload for other people. Something happens and your screwed.

Appreciate the feedback Henry, I contacted them they were out of stock but expecting some in. I have emailed and requested notification when it's arrived. I have been in touch with some ammo makers, and will buy brass and have them load for me. I cannot set up reloading in my home, and although I don't anticipate shooting the Webley a lot, would like to have a decent supply on hand for fun at the range. Purely a nostalgia thing, although expensive, until I move to a new home I will just have to pay through the nose for the fun. Fortunately I have a supportive wife who enjoys shooting too :)

OP, you don't mention WHY you aren't able to set up for reloading in your apartment.

Take a look at the LEE sight. They have a nifty little hand held press that fits into a kitchen drawer or small fishing tackle box. If you use a small tackle box there will be room for a pound of powder, box of bullets, primers, dies and the loading press.

I can attest this little press will put together accurate ammunition. I used one for quite a while when I was shooting Hunter Bench Rest. Cheap as well. You can get set up with everything needed, if you have brass around $200C.

Higginson Powder out of Hawkesbury carries the presses/dies/powder/primers and maybe bullets.

When did you contact them last? I have good info saying they have lots in stock. It's listed on their website too.

Regards, Henry

DATAM, if you do eventually manage to reload, Henry now has .455 Starline brass in stock, as they have just done a run of .455. If you're even thinking of getting into reloading for the cartridge, it might be a good idea to get some brass now, as they only do runs from time to time. A bag will last you a lifetime. Jethunter here on CGN has the proper 265 gn. HBRN bullets, too.

I used to have Lee Loaders and then went to a Dillon press. I will look into all suggestions and may get back into it if I start using a lot more ammo. I shoot .38/357/45acp more than the 455.

Me, too. The old Webley rarely gets a decent airing these days, but this reminds me I need to get her out for a little exercise. Heading to the range in a couple of hours with my .38 & .357s. Still on a Lee Classic Cast turret press. I'd love a Dillon as they really are the Cadillac of the breed but the Lee is good enough for now :)

I find that for the amount of shooting I manage to do these days, it is best for me just to buy "tailor made" old age and illness has taken it's toll and I sold my reloading gear when we left Nova Scotia. If we move in a few years I may very well start up again if I get closer to the range and do more. I so enjoyed Cowboy Action Shooting but cannot do more than an hour or two before having to rest up so had to drop out of that too.

I just placed an order with Henry, so I shall have enough for a while. ;-)
