Hi, I purchased a Bergmann Bayard model 1912 ( same as 1910 but civilian ) a couple of years back and find the the Bolt Knob Insert ( #4) is missing. If some one out there has a pistol I would appreciate dimensions so I can get one built.

Whoever had it years ago modified the firing pin spring with an insert that stuck to the firing pin and kept it in the extended position. This also made disassembly impossible as the firing pin should just drop out when the Bolt Knob insert is removed.Needless to say I ended up with a broken firing pin but at least can now take the pistol apart. If anyone know a good Smith that can make firing pins I would be obliged getting the info.

That insert looks like interferes and is held by fp spring tension.
To make something similar, it may be possible to just meaure internal diameter of the bolt handle where the original pin goes and making replacement to that diameter. Then just machining the groove in it for fp channel as in original.
Very interesting pistol.
Any pictures of it and the handle available?

I will try and post a few pics next week. The OD of the part is no problem. It is the diameter of the area that holds back the firing pin that needs to be precise. I have located photos and am attempting to scale everything.

Kudos and thanks to Imperial Luger. He got me the dimensions of the Bolt Knob Insert. Now just need my Machinist to finish the project.
