Hey all,

Just received a newly prohibited item...yay. Still tinkering obviously! ATRS AT15 Upper/Lower Build

Realized that the dust cover has a detent that is slightly too long and the snap into place requires significant force. OK no big deal, everything I read says the BCG will pop it open no problem.

NOPE.

BCG was touching as it went by, but the dust cover wouldn't open. I filed a small groove (no dremel on hand) to try and reduce amount of force required to pop the dust cover. Still no progress.

Finally started applying electrical tape one layer at a time onto the rounded part of the dust cover detent spring housing until the BCG made significant contact. 5 layers before we have consistent opening.

So my question is, what is best for long term (2 year) fix?

1.Adding something more permanent than tape? Suggestions?
2.New Dust cover? Anyone know how the AT15 hides the pin to swap this?
3. F$%* it and just leave the tape?

Thanks everyone!

Definitely tried oiling and working it in. Will try shortening the detent!

Don't.

The problem is the bolt carrier, the ejection port side has been milled flat instead of being left round like a mil-spec BCG. That's why it doesn't pop the dust cover open.
