:redface:I purchased a new Stoeger Condor O/U with single set trigger. I have never owned or shot an O/U before. I took a couple shots with it the other day and I assumed I pull the trigger once and it fires (which it does) and then again and it fires (which it doesn't)? I have to switch the safety switch "on" then "off" again for the second shot to fire. Is this normal? It fires the bottom barrel first which is fine.....but the switch thing throws me off.

That is not normal when you release the trigger after the first shot it should be ready to fire on the second BBL. Don't mess with it take it back to the dealer.

Thanks I didn't think so. I just googled it and someone suggested taking the buttstock off and cleaning it out (too much grease)? Well I took the buttstock off and didn't see any grease but everything looked rather dry....so I buttered it up with some Rem-Oil (teflon) and lo and behold it works like a charm! Doesn't even require the recoil as some suggested in my search to set the seond trigger. I feel better now :D.

I had the same problem a long time ago with a cheap Spanish O/U but the fact that it was doing it only with magnum loads made the answer more obvious : The gun was no good !
