Hi guys,

I need some help/suggestions on what type of scope and rings or a red dot I should put on my Marlin GBL 45-70. I have the weaver rail that's installed on her. It will be for hunting so the distance will be from, lets say 10 to 200 yards.

Cheers.

I am very pleased with the Leupold VX II 1 - 4 x 20 on my Marlin Guide Gun.

TC detachable rings on a Weaver base.

I also have an NECG peep sight (Brownells) that mounts to the Weaver base in place of the scope. I take it on 'away' hunting trips in case the scope gets damaged.

This scope is small and unobtrusive and the mag range suits the 45/70 very well. It should stand up to the recoil with no troubles as well.

I went with the Leupy FXII 2x but on a scout mount as I have a ghost ring sight on the receiver.

Great rig, shoot with both eyes open, light, fast handling and I shot a 1.5" group at 100 yards with it. Point blank range out to 200 yards with Leverevolutions.
