Hello all,

I’ve been watching some YouTube videos by GarandThumb and T.RexArms what kind of shooting discipline they partake in. I’m thinking it’s something along the lines of IPSC Rifle and pistol or some form of two gun practical discipline. It intrigued me because it’s mix of speed and accuracy and not staying in one position.

Any help would be appreciated.

Where you are will unfortunately dictate what you shoot. You need to do some research and find out what shooting disciplines are available in your area. We live in an area where IDPA, IPSC, 2 gun, 3 gun, tac rifle and speed steel are all available, so it's pretty easy to pick one. All are fun, and you will never regret competing, great people and the challenge of running a course of fire will keep you coming back for more. Good luck in your search for your sport :)

TRex and GarandThumb are in the US and I believe have access to, at least, a 270 if not a 360 range. Different rules. You see Botkin and Mr. Plaid breaking 90 in quite a few vids as they move laterally and backwards. None of these maneuvers are legal in any Canadian civilian sanctioned events that I know of.
I think they are setting up controlled stages for personal training and filming it. TactiCool factor is high but will get you a DQ in a match.

Yeah I figured that maybe it’s just a special range that they personally use for their videos. I’m located in Halifax, NS and a couple tenges offer IPSC but I believe they are pistol only. I like to be able to try 2 gun IPSC style.
