So I need to raise some funds. I don’t want to see but a friend wants to buy one of me. I told him a fair market price. Or $100 less Hahn market but I can’t find any on here to compare to. There’s one with most of the blueing gone but that’s all I could find. One of these is 1978 and one is 1985. Both excellent condition. Any help on market value please. Shoot! Can’t ad photos. Membership must have run out! Both almost like new. I’ll renew and post pics.

The older ones without the rebounding hammer's and goofy safety's are worth more to me..... I bet the ones with the goofey safeties are going for around a grand these days so I'd put the older ones above that..... how much higher? Hard to say but if you wanted to buy a made in Japan trapper today it's probably close to 1800.00

They are worth more then they were 5 years ago and less then they will likely be worth in 5 years.... lot's of people will balk at some of the asking prices these days but factor in inflation, the fact they are not making anymore US made Winchester Trapper's and I would think that closer to $1500 is in the ball park... depends on what you need and what your friend can afford or how bad he wants it?
Leverguns seem to be a hot commodity currently and even though they were considered high capacity high rate of fire weapons back in the day they are not currently at the front of the line for the anti gun hating zealots....

Even though it's been a decade know that the LGR has been gone, it's only in the last 3 years or so that 1894's have crept up and now with covid inflation, black gun bans etc I think the price increases are not going to slow down...
Old timers tend to think of US made1894's as being a dime a dozen becuase they were for a long time, but as I get older the I realize that things do change whether we like it or not....
Personally I like the 30-30 a bit more in the 1894 action, but for sure a nice older 44 magnum in great condition would sell for 1000 bucks in today's market given the lack of lever actions available in general right now and an increasing interest from younger newer shooters.
I doubt one of those guns would sell in a day for $1500 on the EE but at $1000 I'd be surprised if they lasted more then a day.... that said asking and selling prices are rarely the same unless the price is right..... for the buyer!
$1000-$1500 would be the reasonable to high range in my estimation but I haven't seen many nice older trappers listed lately or bought or sold one recently.
I bought one last year , a mid-1990’s manufactured 45 colt trapper for $1100 and thought that was a better than fair price. In overall very good condition , excellent bore , perfect blueing with no pitting/rust/corrosion. Mine came with a receiver mounted ghost ring aperture rear sight.
As mentioned above I think a fair price for yours would be in the $1000-1500 range.
