New to the 45ACP game with my new 1911, I'm looking for some pointers on best pricing/shipping/availability of 45ACP bulk ammo.
I plan to get setup reloading 45 on my presses but in the short term I'd like to order 500-1000 rounds.
Any info would be appreciated.

Have you checked CGN sponsoring businesses?
TEC has different makes of factory ammunition, and pays shipping if purchased by the case.
SFRC has Wolf brand remanufactured ammunition by the case.
If you are going to be doing a lot of .45 shooting, you will be motivated to get into reloading sooner rather than later.

I keep an eye out here on CGN for .45ACP, every now and then a deal happens. However, I rely on reloading for the bulk of my .45ACP, the saving is worth it.

In order to reload you still have to accumulate brass. Find a sale, and make sure they have free shipping or buy local. For new factory rounds the price doesn't vary an awful lot, but sometimes you get a sale Even then 45 sale prices generally aren't as good as 9mm sale prices. Personally, if you can find once fired brass cheap I would start reloading from the get go

Check out some of the firearms auctions that go on. I’ve bought ammo from Switzer’s in the past. They generally have a fairly large variety of relatively cheap ammo in large quantities on offer.

thats the way I did it. Range brass and cast bullets and single stage press ) It takes some time but little effort to load up 500 at one sitting. But the reduction in costs equates to more shooting so more reloading, a progressive is in the future........maybe

A lot of good replies here and I appreciate it. Bought a Springfield armoury loaded operator, advice on load data? Wanting to shoot 230grain for idpa. I'm not sure yet how picky a Springfield is with ammo so looking for a reliable load data, is win 231 the gold standard or can I make due with titegroup as that's what I buy for my 9mm reloads.

I use titegroup exclusively. I believe i use 4.9 or 5 grs. With a 230 or 225 bullet (230 jacketed, 225 lead) same load for both
