Looking to sell my good condition STI Ranger II in .40 S&W. Has some slide wear in the usual places. Since its not produced and the used market is pretty dry looking to the forum to help on pricing the gun with two mags. Could it be a $1000 gun?? thanks Smirf

Hello Smirf,

Major retailer has sold one for $979, in excellent condition, as good as new.
Yours might be somewhat less, if there is detectable wear and tear on a pistol.

Hope this helps,
Dan

It could be a $1000. gun, but it just might be a $1500. gun too.

In January, I sold one on the EE for $900. In less than six hours I got something like a dozen "If it's still available, I'll take it"' responses. Over the next few weeks, despite the "SOLD" notice, I got dozens more "If the deal falls through, I'll take it" messages. You might consider the fact that - over time - STI jacked their prices markedly, and that STI has now stopped making 1911 variants altogether. I'm guessing that my $900. valuation might have been low (by just a bit).

YMMV

Whats the round count?
If under 5000 I’d say 1200$, it does use the full size frame and can easily be converted for a build later on.
Had a ranger ll a few years ago in 9mm and got 1200$ for it myself, but was in very good/excellent condition.

If I had easy cashflow I'd pick up a ranger for 1200ish, but for my use (ipsc) a commander length gun and fixed sights is not as enticing.

I'm surprised at your ranger is still available, looks good for that price

I currently have a STI Ranger II in 9mm in the EE for $1200 shipped. No bites other than a couple of offers to trade. Considering a new pistol from Freedom Ventures and Double Tap Sports is $2120, I am a little surprised at the lack of interest on these STI's
It's a fine piece I would think the market is just slow for every price range..

Try IDPA :).
Given the short distances typically encountered in the pistol sports (IPSC included), I never felt the need for a adjustable rear sight. But if someone really wanted one, the rear sight is easily changed out.

No thanks!

It may be in good condition, but the kicker is it's in .40 S&W caliber. I hate to be the bearer of bad news. Everybody knows it a dead caliber.

.40 cal lovers like me, are few and far between as well as patient. We are waiting for prices of .40 cal pistols to hit bottom. We either make ridiculously low ball offers, or we just wait until the Seller gets tired of waiting. As well, true 1911 believers like them in .45 ACP, IMHO.

The law of supply and demand will always prevail be it real estate, cars, vegetables, pork bellies, orange juice, oil, or guns.
