I installed a 302 timney trigger and now the safety hits the back of the bolt. I figure I have a few options but not sure which is the best.
A) get new trigger without safety. Not a great option because original safety hits scope.
B) grind off the bolt
C) get new piece for end of bolt.
D) suggestions?
I do have more time and money invested in this bolt and action than I should so I would like to solve this problem the right way. Thanks for your help.

You can notch out the bolt shroud... the quickest and easiest solution. I would contact Timney and ask them if you have the correct trigger for your 98 Mauser.

Decided to grind the corner off the shroud then had to do a little inlet work on the stock where I bent the safety out about 1/16" then had to open the trigger hole in the guard and take 1/16"-1/8" off the tip of the trigger. All work done with a dremel and hand file. I hope it's worth the effort.
