I need some help getting my Larue 7.0 FF onto my AR in Prince George area. I just dont have the tools to take the barrel nut off, and can't even get the pins holding the FSB to budge.

If anyone in the area can offer a helping hand, it would be greatly appreciated. i can't wait to get this thing on and try it out!

I'll buy you beer :)

Thanks.

I just installed mine - I'd lend a hand but I'm in Calgary. I purchased my armorer's wrench from Willwagspal on this board - great price and fast shipping. You should probably think about getting one. Try some penetrating oil on the FS bolts, or try a heat gun (there may be locktight on the threads).

Drive taper pins from left to right.

Some sharp whacks should get the pins loose as long as the barrel/FSB is secured well.

Just like to say thanks to NaOH in Prince George for inviting me into his home and helping me put the LaRue on. The pins on the FSB were very stubborn to drift off, and even dented up my cheap punches. What finally worked for us was a punch that was much larger 4-5x of the actual size of the pin, and MANY hits with a good hammer, a mallet just won't cut it. The bigger the hammer the better. If it just isn't moving, don't give up! it will eventually. After that the rest was a breeze, only one note, when putting on the LaRue barrel nut, the retaining device that has two screws to 'stop' the rail from spining once mounted, binds with the reciver clamp, not allowing you to torque the nut down adaquately. We wrapped the upper in a towel and put it back in the vice, becareful though, you can easily scratch the case defector that way (my fault). Other than that all was well, will post some pics once a few more parts come in next week!

Thanks again to NaOH!! great guy, and very helpful

Glad to help. We'll take it to the range once the rest of your HSLD gear arrives.

Yep, if you're mounting a Larue you'll need to dremel away a bit of the upper reciever block to get it to work right. Looks like a pretty solid mount though.

?? Really? I mounted my 9.0 with no mods required. Where exactly did you remove material?

**Edit:

I just re-read that and I assume you mean you had to remove material from the action-block, not the upper reciever itself.

Got a few parts in from Wolverine today (fast shipping!)..

Here is the black beauty:
Colt LE6920
LaRue 7.0 (thanks NaOH and mopar guy)
EOTech 552 Rev. F
Magpul M93A
Magpul MIAD Grip
Magpul Enhanced Trigger Gaurd
Tangodown Vert. Grip.

Wanting to get a ARMS #40L BUIS, and maybe a vortex flash hider.

I do notice it's starting to feel a bit front heavy.
