Help Reloading 7.5x55 Swiss

I hope to be getting a K31 soon and have begun the research into its care and feeding.

While I have done a bit of reloading (.303 Br, .45 ACP, .308 and .223) the 7.5x55 seems to have a lot of confusing, to me at least, and contradictory information floating about.

I started with my Sierra and Hornady manuals and both contain warnings to slug the barrel and measure the chamber before reloading ect. Compared to other calibers they seem to leave the impression that reloading 7.5x55 is considerably riskier than any other load.

The Internet is even more confusing, some saying not to neck size, others saying to seat bullets much shorter than the manual COL. Some say only long bullets will work well and others say only Redding dies will work well.

Rather than sort through the real versus imaginary info I hope some of you who have experience with this round will share it with me. I would like to hear what has worked for you and some answers to a few other questions.

- Where do you get Boxer primer brass? Do you resize another caliber, if so which one and how.

- Which company's dies do you use? Where did you get them?

- What would be a good starting bullet and powder combination? I will be shooting paper only and probably at 100 yds mostly initially.

- Have you tried lead bullets? How successful were they?

- Have you put a scope on your K31? If so what mount and how well did it work.

I am attracted to the K31 by its unique action and its reputation for accuracy but I confess I am a bit intimidated by reloading for it. Having said that I suspect that the cost and lack of factory loads will force me to reload for it. Those who own them seem to swear by them and they seem to have a cult like following.

Help!!! Thank you all.

Graff makes 7.5X55 brass, I get all my odbawl brass and stuff from a local dealer, he also has had in the past factory ammo for it. I have been using rcbs dies, and #3 lee shellholder. Just work up some loads, find out your distance to the lands by chambering an unprimed and long seated sized case... likely you will be limited by mag length. The k31 is a strong built rifle, maybe there is so much confusion due to early rifles(like the k 98 vs 88)?

A good place for info is http://theswissriflesdotcommessageboard.yuku.com/ If you do a bit of digging you will find a lot of info on reloading and the K-31.
As for brass I have purchased some from http://www.buffaloarms.com/ They have been great to deal with, and the prices are not bad either.
I have found that when trying a new bullet it is best to make a dummy round and try it in the rifle, the K-31 has a tighter throat than other straight pulls so you may have to seat the bullet deeper so that it will chamber, especially any that are long with round noses. I have casted some Lee 180 grain lead bullets and used them in my K-31, they seem to work fine.
Hope this helps.

A word about the Prvi brass.. I am trying some for the first time and have found it to be labor intensive out of the bag. It required all the steps for new brass...flash hole be-burring, length trim and it took a good amount of sizing on the lower half of the cases. I am using new FL RCBS dies.. do NOT scrimp on the case lube. This brass will get stuck right quick. I ended up tearing the rim off a case and had to fab an extractor. I also found the primer pockets tighter than Rem or Win brass...almost like a crimp.. could have used a run over the pocket uniformer.

YMMV.
