Hello everyone, I have a Remington 700 Police chambered in 300WM, it was an accurate rifle, however a couple weeks ago I accidentally drop it on the concrete floor(without stock, just naked with action, barrel and trigger) and since then, it lost its accuracy, now it is a 2MOA gun in a hundred yards, sometimes worse.
I'm thinking maybe the action and barrel is not lined up, I don't know if blueprinting it would help, but I would like to give it a try!
so I'm wondering if there is any gunsmiths in Toronto area that could help me to fix this accuracy problem and make it back to what it should be, an accuracy sub-moa gun?

any input would be greatly appreciated!

Has the accuracy of your other firearms changed as well ? Not teasing you , but ever thought it might be you and not the rifle ? I honestly doubt anything catastrophic happened unless you dropped it from the second floor.

I also have a Savage 10FCP 308 that constantly shoots <1moa at a hundred yards. Initially I thought that was me not getting used to the kick of 300WM, but I had a friend at range who let me tried his Remington 700 in 300WM, and I could get better accuracy around 1moa with his rifle(his rifle was a factory remington, compare to my rifle is a 700POLICE with AICS stock and timney trigger, and his is far more accurate than mine.) I also tried mine with a benchrest, to eliminate the shooter's factor, doesn't help, still grouping >2moa.

Have you doublechecked all the screws? What sights are on it? Check that your scope mount and base, if applicable, are still torqued properly.

Also I tried different weight of bullet, because it has a 1:10 twist, so I mostly feed it with bullets from 180gr to 220gr. the 190gr SMK BTHP was its favourite, but now I tried from 150gr to 220gr and it just doesnt make a good group regardless what kind of ammo.

I'm wondering if blueprinting the action and barrel would really help? cuz I think this is the only option that I have.

id honestly start with check all the mounting screws for rings, rail, action etc... i find it incredibly hard to believe a small drop onto a concrete floor destroyed your rifles accuracy.. these are not surgical tools, they are a big metal tub screwed into another big metal tub with some machine work done to it...

im not saying there isnt somthing wrong, im saying that its not going to be your barrel to action fitment...

the worst case that I could think of is that I bent my barrel while I dropped it. and also I broke my safety, my trigger works fine tho with a crisp 3lbs pull everytime.

so this is my rifle, the safety is broken, but it is still a safe firearm.

and before I dropped it, the accuracy is like this

but now, the best it could do is this

my scope is fine tho, even tho I dropped it with a scope on, but the scope stays zeroed everytime I go to the range, just the rifle doesn't group at all...

The second group doesn't look >2" to me. Were you shooting 3 shot groups before, and 5 shot groups after?

Try a different scope, and check the rail screws when you remove the scope.

Come out to EESA tomorrow or Monday I will fix your rifle for you;-)
PM me if your interested. I live in Burlington by the way but shoot at EESA 300m range.

You ain't going to bend a barrel by a light drop or even higher drop. As others pointed out, check the crown for any damage. Did you torque down the action screws back to the same settings as before? Were you in the process of switching out the old stock to a new stock? Your images show two (maybe 3?) rnd group and the second pic a 5rnd group but neither are 2MOA groups. Did you check that your parallax/focus is properly set? Don't trust the markings on the parallax knob.

Try putting another scope on the rifle just to eliminate the possibility that you damaged the scope. I'd also check all the action screws, scope mount, etc. as others have suggested.

As others have asked, was this the first time you removed it from that stock? Difference in action screws may affect the accuracy. Also, try to dry fire while looking thru the scope, when the firing pin is struck is there any movement of the cross hairs? The rifle may zero but damage or to the elevators may result in minor shift of the cross hair with every shot.

factory ammo?? different brand or lot number of the original boxes that shot sub moa??

In a case like this you need caramel to shoot groups with it........that will fix'r right up.........

torque on the action screws is critical, if you broke off the safety how is the action/trigger fit in the stock? is it possible that you also bent the trigger and now it's rubbing the stock and causing grief???

when it hit the floor, what hit first? muzzle end or action end? did the scope hit first? did the scope tube bend? so many things that we don't know and yet you want a definitive answer............
