Hi. I recently stumbled across a remington nylon 66. It seems to be in wonderful shape except for two things. 1) The bolt handle is broken off 2) its in pieces. I have a wonderful little zip-lock baggie chalk full of pins, springs, and screws... Does anybody know how I can get this little gem back into working order?
Any help would be awesome!
Thanks

Well, you do have your work cut out for you! This is one of those rifles that will make you pull out all your hair (insert my pic here).
I have an extra bolt handle if you ever get that far. Sorry I can't be of any more help than that.

if you need more, i have the original owner's manual- shoot me your e-mail addy and i'll scan it for u- go p/m of course

rem 66 manual

I can help too, I have the manuals on PDF at home (came in handy, finally got mine apart, cleaned, and back together with no stress.) Feel free to PM me if needed.

Goto http://stevespages.com/pdf/remington_66.pdf this is a manual or brochure that came with the 66. If that is not enough to put it back together you will have to get a book called "SPORTING RIFLE TAKEDOWN AND REASSEMBLY GUIDE " by J. B. WOOD. Or send me a PM and maybe I can send to your email the scanned pages on the 66, but they are quite dark and my not scan well. But we can try. The J.B.Wood books ( there are about 4 books , pistol, rifles ,military rifle ,shotguns, .22 rifles ,this covers the .22's that were not in the book I mentioned first) are what I goto when I get a new gun and I wish to really disassemble it.

Sweet little rifle. Almost flawless semi auto operation. I have one in chrome and black. What a "looker" with a nice 3x9 40mm scope on it.

"...Almost flawless semi auto operation..." As long as you don't take it apart. They can be a nightmare to reassemble. Gunparts has bolt handles. $5.80US each.

Success!!!! It took almost 3 1/2 hours to do, but she's all back together! I think I would have gotten it back together alot sooner, but I wasn't the one who took it all apart... I didn't find it all that hard to do, wraping my head around the parts blow-ups was the interesting part! All thats left now is the bolt handle (and its on the way)
Big thanks to Gunrunner100 & BEARMAN, along with everyone else. You guys are awesome!
(If I knew how to post pics I would... but me and computers just dont agree)
Thanks again!!!!
