The Crown over R marking shown below is not Belgian....does anyone recognize it?
It has two ears over the crown instead of three.

Does anyone recognize the U over 54 marking on the grip shown below.
It may well be military but I have not been able to find anything like it.

These markings appear on the gun shown below.

Thanks for any help.

David

Possible Queens Crown marking, Queen Victoria would have been on the British throne during the period Colt Dragoons were in production.
The labeling of the third picture, "BritishcrownedGPproofonCylinder_zps00faceab.png", would make this likely.

Not a Russian marking, definitely: there is no "R" in the Cyrillic alphabet.

The Crown looks British.

The "R" MIGHT be for "Rework" after Proof.

The "U 54" well could be a unit marking. I would start looking for a 54th Uhlans regiment, if such existed..... or possibly a 1st Uhlans, gun number 54.

David, is that actually a LONDON COLT sporting ADJUSTABLE SIGHTS?

What a wonderful TOY!!!
