I recently purchased a scope and mounted it in Burris Zee Rings the scope was adjusted to the max up and to the left side hits 12" low and dead center on target. I need to shim the front of scope up and to the side to allow for ample adjustment after zeroed. Does anybody have experience with these offset inserts? They come in different sizes what do I need. The Burris website doesn't provide any details.

Ask away. Use them, love them, sell them.

Yep, you will need to raise the front or lower the rear of the scope. Also, move the front of the scope to the left or rear to the right.

The shim kit comes with 5, 10 and 15 thou which is more then enough to get your scope centered.

Make sure you don't have shims in there now that may have been put in 'wrong'

Let me know...

I prefer to shim under the base. If you shim in the rings, you won't have round rings anymore. And the centreline of the rings won't share the same axis. Unless they're currently not sharing the same axis, and the shims fix that. It probably doesn't make much of a difference, but everyone likes their own way.

How much to shim?

3600 inches in 100 yards.

Hitting 12 inches low after max adjustment.

Assuming adjustment is 60 moa.

Total movement needed is 42.

42/3600 = x/y

Where x is shim and y is ring-ring distance.

Eg ring-ring distance is 6"

6*42/3600 = 70 thou.

So if you decide to go in the rings, you'll need 35 up in the back and 35 down in the front.

If you need to move 30 moa to the right, then you need 50 thou total. 25 at each end.
