I broke my ross:( i was stripping it down so i could oil up the stock and give it a good cleaning but i had to take the front sight base off, as i was taking the base off, the piece that holds the blade in broke off, and then i lost the set screw that hold the base in place, any ideas where i can find one?

Thanks

That was a MkII Ross? I'm not sure if all the Rosses had the same front sight base but I was told the hoods were the same. Not sure on the missing screw either but maybe someone has a parts rifle you could scavenge bits from and sell the rest to the greater Ross collecting community?

What your gun is telling you is it wants to live at my house, so you must sell it to me!!:):)

We'll figure some out, like I said earlier, a tig welder and a couple of tack welds and some careful grinding should fix it up til you can find another one!

tinman they only way my ross willbe living at your place is if i was dead lol, i love my ross!!! the sight base was weak to start off with, i but the screw through it maybe just maybe it will hold

Trying to talk someone out of a good Ross is one of the most miserable tasks, if the reward wasn't as great it wouldn't be worth the effort.

You are very right!!

That's ok, Winchester gave me the huge honor of being the first one to shoot his Ross.

Crazy, that's 4 Ross rfiles I've shot now and NONE have blown up!

I must be doing something wrong!:)
