22/45 MKIII 5.5" blued, after last round fired, the bolt went rearward,he put the another full round mag in,and pull the bolt, but bolt stayed and didn't go forward. he had to push the bolt lock button down to let bolt go forward.
I detail-disassembled this gun before. I guess there are some wrong assembled parts caused this problem... please help.

The 22/45's do not 'slingshot'. That is to say, you cannot pull back the bolt and expect it to fly forward; which is the problem you are describing. You must either use just the slide release or pull back the bolt and flick down the slid release. It's one of the reasons I rid of my Ruger. As far as I know, this cannot be altered.

Hahah... Happydude is absolutely correct. I thought you were describing something else (I was looking harder than I should have).

This is also a peeve I have with the 22/45 :p

I rounded the slide release a little at the top so that I could "easily" release the bolt using only the thumb lever.

It's not often, but sometimes the correct answer is the simplest eh. I found the slide release easy to operate but I prefer the method of racking the slide. It's strange, but as far as I know the regular Mk III's do not have this design feature.

sorry,my English is bad,and actually I didn't state clearly one point: I already sold my ruger to my friend,so I used "he"...:D

I love my mk 2 22/45 (stainless, tapered barrel). I also shoot the bull barreled ones at hart house, good times.

So what if it doesn't release the bolt on pulling it back. I'm lefty, I just push down the release with my trigger finger when holding the bolt back, and then release the bolt. Works fine.
