I bought new lapua brass and loaded once to fire form ,then i reloaded and crimped bullet in place with a LEE factory crimp die.Can I reuse these cases or does crimping damage or weaken them that they can,t be reused ?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I've reloaded cheap winchester .223 brass numerous times, all crimped with the LEE factory crimp die. Not a problem.

Pay attention to load details, look at fired cases for signs of excess pressure etc, check case length but above all research and get a decent reloading book. Have fun!

Hi goodog, I use the Lee FCD for .357 H&H, .338WM, .444 Marlin. I have noted a slight increase in muzzle velocity and consitency from factory crimping. Don't over do it, start light and work up slowly if necessary. I recently posted in this regard. I light crimp will not damage the neck, most factory ammo is crimped that same way (hence the name Factory Crimp).

It's about time you started reloading! Don't worry about the crimp damaging the brass. You're good to go. I crimp all of my big bores without issues. Had any luck with the 'yotes?
