Hey guys,
I have a problem. A friend bought a new Savage Mark II ttr-sr. I helped him clean it as he is new to firearms. I gave it the usual once over clean like I do on all my own. I disassembled the bolt to get the grease out of everything, and now can’t figure out how to reassemble. We haven’t found anything online either. I’ve always been able to completely tear down every firearm I’ve owned with out incident. This being a friend’s rifle, I feel like an ass. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey Brent -

I haven't taken my TRR-SR or F bolts apart yet (and maybe it doesn't sound like a good idea, lol) All Mk II bolts should, I believe, be the same.

Perhaps this will help? https://youtu.be/fMHcPGtbrwo It's geared towards disassembly of the whole bolt, but might get you going again if you reverse the steps and this is your issue

This one deals with the extractors and firing pin only, it looks easier so might not be what you're wondering about

good luck, let us know if it works.

Thanks Bruce. That’s the video I used to take it apart, but can’t use it to reverse engineer it together again! Any more help would be appreciated!

Good bunch of people there (met about 15 of them last summer when they did a tour/fundraiser for charity), they were very interested to hear in a situation I was having with an A22 at the time, and told me to call in next time something like that arose. I bet they could talk you through it, or get you the material you need to do it.

Any luck yet, Breu?
I watched the video again and realised the problem trying to put the restraining nut back in place while the spring is under tension - a complicated scenario!
