Just wondering if its worth the money? I mean I see them for $600-650 dollar range for the sniper rifle but you can buy a regular mosin for $200 and change. So the way I see it Im paying 300-400 bucks for a reproduction scope. Dont get me wrong I think the sniper mosins look so cool but just wondering what the consensus is out there. Also Im wondering if this rifle will hold its value say in 10 or 20 years?

The actual sniper guns are stamped on the receiver and drilled and tapped for the scope bracket as well as having the bent bolt handle. They were hand selected during manufacture for better accuracy from what Ive read. I have one myself, but am in need of an original scope and bracket as the original was sold prior to me.
Be careful with the scopes there are a lot of fakes and knockoffs, some Chinese and some Russian as well.

I see P&S GUNS and MILITARIA have original sniper rifles converted back to infantry rifle. Would It be better to buy one of those and then get an original scope? or should I just buy one with the aftermarket scope? Decisions, decisions, ....

I have a few of them and i have never being disappointed!! Sub MOA with the right person be hide it! They will only go up in price. As long as it is a true sniper. there were a few knock offs floating around. A real sniper is stamped as such.
In my opinion you can't go wrong with a mosin sniper.

I bought a regular mosin for $130 and bolted a scope on the rear sight. Way cheaper and who knows if those are real mosin snipers on the Internet? They are easy to fake. If you want a serious sniper rifle get a ross or a Springfield. You could hit a fleas ass at 500 yards with a ross or a Springfield at 350 yards. Just my opinion, get the expensive mosin if you want I was seriously looking at one on the Internet but went the cheap route instead. You can put almost any scope on the rear sight with the proper rail. You can get the mosin scope kit on amazon for $67 in the USA or the same kit in Canada for $140. I bought mine in Canada, I didn't want to get raped at the border.

The refurbed sniper on the market now are real Moisin sniper with genuine PU scope. They wont go down in price so if you want one, its your chance. Choose one with best possible bore. I bought one manys months ago but didnt have time yet to shoot with, cant wait to snow be gone....

Yep they are easy to fake and there are many reproductions, but the ones TradeEx are selling are the real deal and shoot very well. They are original sniper that were refurbed. There's a big difference from a $100 Mosin with unknown barrel condition and a cheap scope kit, but if that's what you want then go for it.

What's the difference besides being the same rifle with a bent handle and hand picked because they are a little more accurate because they are build slightly better.

Difference one - they are way cooler, its a F***ing SNIPER RIFLE what's cooler then that.
Two- they aren't just a little more accurate they are way more accurate. .5- 1.5 moa vs 2-5 moa
Three- 10-20 years down the road they will be worth a lot more.
Four- its a real sniper rifle!

I say get one they are awesome and if treated well they will make a nice investment or a cool thing to pass on to your kids or grand kids.

So the ones on Tradex I see have matching scopes to the recievers? Are they true matching or just electopencilled to match? Also does anyone know if the bolt matches the reciever on these ones? Anyways I think I will call them tomorrow.

The refurbed snipers have excellent bores, improved triggers and have the bedding tweaks for consistent accuracy. At least mines does.
Original PU scopes mated to the receiver.
It is a WWII era sniper rifle and keeps it's value for that. Some countries still use it.

Many would agree any refurbed 91/30 infantry rifle you get for $100 is buyer beware when it comes to bores.

themouser the scopes serial won't match the rifle but they are usually are dated ( scopes do break so it might not match the rifles date) either there will be a date stamped on it or it will be the first 2 letter of the serial number ex: 4465839 is a 1944 scope. The scope number will be electro penciled on the mount and the mount should ( won't always, it might be penciled on ) be stamped to match the rifles serial and regardless of the arsenal( Tula originally never did this, they only put CH or C n above the star) a refurb sniper will have the scopes serial stamped on the left of the barrel shank.

How mAny sniper mosins were there? How many mosins made? How many were restamped to call them snipers to make more money? Can you trust a Russian gun deal to sell you genuine sniper rifles? I don't buy it. Easy to make fakes. Buyer beware. They are refurbished so they won't shoot the same as original so why would it still be a sniper?

They made over 350 000 PU snipers so why would they go through the effort to make fakes and pass them for real ones when they have so many real ones to sell? They pretty much inherited all these rifles so they don't make more money faking them. May i ask if you ever shot a refurbished PU sniper? Just so you know the Russians were very picky about their sniper and took good care of their expensive rifles during the refurbishment process, they were tested to the same accuracy standards they had to be chosen in the first place.

Why wouldn't a refurb shoot the same as an original? The molot snipers may have some inconsistencies to them but they are real snipers. Tula didn't make any 91/30 in 44 other than snipers.

Well I've got one from Tradex sitting in the post office waiting for me to pick it up. Just can't get there in time before closing, maybe saturday. Ill try to post some pictures then.
