Hi everyone,

Hopefully I'll be receiving my Troy 102 on Friday and since I plan to review the little bugger I would like to compare it side by side with a BCL102 and put a LOT of nonsense and speculations from the business threads to rest.

So, if you're willing to meet up at the range around Montreal for pictures (side by side comparison) and see if uppers can be swapped or not (since the claim has been made), send me a message !

For the others if you got questions for the reviews just post them below.

Thanks,

And it's already here ! A big girl of 4.6 kg !

So far it's waaaaaaaaaaaaaay superior to BCL, BCG is properly stacked, almost 0 play, the front hinge was quite tight actually.
For the barrel it's a medium contour with a .750" gas block, when I get to improving it I will probably switch the current to an adjustable one.

Just what we need, to put all the rumors to bed and shut the folk up who say it's just a rebranded BCL 102. Troy makes quality products and I'm certain that's what we'll see in this thread.

in for updates

You know you don't have to reply to subscribe to a thread? It's quite redundant. Instead go to the first post and click on 'Forum Tools'.

I mean, It might be a quality product if they used decent materials. For $1800 I'd expect better than 6061 aluminum, but that seems to be the trend with all the firearms they make.

Troy 102 and enquired and was told the receivers are 6061 hardened. He said they chose the softer aluminum so it will crack versus shatter should there be a KB.

Doesn't sound like quality to me.

Not sure about the nonsense and speculation if the upper and lower are the same it's the same rifle because everything else on the rifle can be swapped out with other parts and it's the upper and lower that classify the rifle. If the upper and lowers match its a Troy version of the BCL 102 built with Troy parts I really don't understand people arguing about this fact i'm sure the Troy built version is superior to the BCL version. But it's obviously a Troy version of the BCL102 so just accept it and if the reviews are good buy one if you want but don't say because the BCL version had issues the Troy version will as well because that's not really fair either.

If I buy a STAG 10 upper and lower and build my own from any parts you would still say I have a STAG 10 so how is this any different

"It's quite redundant"?? Well pardon me, The end result is still the same, bud, so go preach to someone who cares....

You kidding ? For an AR10 that's not heavy at all, just about average for a gun with a medium profile barrel.

More seriously the weight is deceiving. Maybe it's because I lift a bit (10 kg in each hand, 150 - 200 reps every two days), but I have no problem getting into position and transitionning.
Safety selector is stupid hard though !
