I'm looking for a forend for an old cooey single shot.
One side says "Made by Winchester Western (Canada) Limited"
Other side " COOEY Model 840 Made in Canada"
On barrell "Proof Tested 12GA Full choke"

I think I saw an 840 on the used rack at WSS in Calgary. I can not remember the price, but it was marked "parts only"
 
On the Cooey shotguns fore ends there are 2 different spring locking mechanisms one has a leaf spring and fits the older style of gun possibly the Cooey before Winchester and the second has a coil spring and is for the later Winchester Cooey shotguns. I don't know if there is any overlap where a leaf spring will work in a Winchester Cooey gun. Also if you are not able to get the proper one for the gauge you have , the barrel channel can be opened up to fit larger gauges, so a 20 or 16 gauge wood can be made to fit a 12 gauge.

Have your plastic handy! They will sell to anyone! If they can not help you, I would re post as there are lots of these guns around. Like I said, I saw something similar at WSS. I will be there next week and check.
