help to id 1mkIII stamps

hi everyone:

i need the gurus on this site to ID some stampings on a no1mkIII*
SHTLE.

i think they're unit markings but i don't know.I do know that's a BSA stamp
but the others i'm at a loss.

Inspection property/ stamps from the 1950s. Is this arm marked FTR on the left side?

yes,it's FTR 1953...

GA is generally Garrison Artillery.

Likewise, GE is Garrison Engineers.

thanks all,as for garrison,is it a proper name/place or a generic term.
i.e. is it garrison india or uk or does it just mean a generic garrison rifle?

p.s. i've searched the web and have yet to come up with a clean and definitive site for arsenal/unit markings.
any ideas?

Not unit marks, these are inspection/property stamps from the 50s appearing on new made 50s No4, 7 &9 rifles as well as the No1s FTRd in 1953.

Agree with Green, my No9 plus all the 1953 FTR No1s i have seen have this type of stamp.
