Hey guys just got my Russian tt33 cleaned up an out to the range today. It fired the first mag no problems. Then when I reloaded it would jam every shot. The spent casing would stay in the chamber and push an unfired round up behind. I would drop the mag and cycle out the round. Did this a few times then it jammed the spent shell in and I couldn't function the slide. Field striped the pistol and cleaned and oiled. Tried again and once again I shot to mags the. The problem started again. I'm not sure where to begin and finding the problem!

I know it sounds weard, but I will ask the question : is your extractor still on the gun ? if yes, take it apart the rail, to do so, take the rail upside down, you will see the retainning pin to push up out of the rail, it retain the extractor, when looking the right side of the rail at the extractor, there is a little thiny spring left of the extractor inside a tiny hole (the extractor push the spring in the hole), be aware..... that spring is only 2-3 mm long, I suspect that your extractor is not doing is job, either you are missing this spring or it is broken ......

of maybe the extractor not moving at all ,,,,, jam in place, by removing it, clean it and put some white grease on the spring and inside extractor, ......it should help

put everything in place, once your first try at the shooting range, check if the retainning is coming up out of is ''socket'' after somes mags......, if it 's doing that, put some lock tite (blue one, not the red), it will help keep the pine in place.....

Yes, sometimes the ammo could be a problem , you can took a dremel tool and polish the barrel and the chamber, it might help.

Not sure about the swelling issue, maybe it is normal....

related to your extractor problem, if your Tok did shoot many many rounds, maybe it needs to be replace, check the wear of the extractor.....

all the edges of the extractor should be nice, not too rounded ...., the spring do not have much range, it should be though to push it.

I have this problem with surplus ammo, new stuff seems to work fine for me. MAybe one day I will take the slide apart and clean it like tazik says.

Same here, surplus ammo will make is harder if you have an already weak/seized extractor. Buy non surplus and you will not have any problems. My friend was having issues so he ordered a new extractor and now it works like a charm. If you dont want to do that just do what "tazik" said by cleaning and oiling the extractor and it should work better. They are lots of fun to shoot.

If you're shooting steel cased ammo that has the anti rust varnish on it then this could well be the culprit. The varnish softening and sticking is a big issue with the Mosin Nagant rifles when shooting surplus ammo.

I would not go overboard with wearing away at the chamber. But a really good cleaning of the chamber ONLY, not the rifled portion, with a bronze bore brush of the right size along with a hand drill to work it might clean away the grunge that could be making things sticky.

Before you remove any material by polishing or doing anything with a Dremel chamber check barrel with a live round in the barrel by itself. If the round does not literally fall easily into place then it could be that your chamber is on the tight side. But if a new round falls into position easily and you can feel a little play in the seating then it's already big enough. Opening it up more with anything other than a LIGHT amount of polishing isn't going to do anything good.

Ya it's not a trade ex pistol. I ordered it from a dealer on gun nutz. I just find it funny how it will cycle the first mag or 2 without any issue then start acting up. The gun store where I'm located only has surplus ammo so I can't even try some good stuff.

Sounds like it needs a good cleaning...shooting 2 mags just fine then stopping TO ME seems like it is warming the gun up and cosmo is seeping out of it and messing with it. AS well as a slight ammo issue possibly.
