A good friend is transferring these two items to me and I am going to list them for sale .
I have zero milsurp knowledge and am trying to determine a value.
Both are in nice condition.
He has had them to the range and fired them.
The Walther is 1943.
The M1 is a Winchester 1943.
I have no idea why the bolt handle was cut on the M1,but this is how it has been since he owned it.
Any help appreciated.

On the P38:
-matching original s/ns on frame, slide and barrel?
-Russian re-work marks?
-bore condition?
If answers are yes, no, and good-ex, in the area of $750

On the Carbine:
- W marked barrel, bolt, stock , trigger housing ?
- bore condition?
If yes to the above, approx. $800. We can't see the bolt alteration that you are describing, but if changed from the original the value is diminished.

I'm not an expert, but I've been tracking P38's for a while. Average condition 38's seem to be going from 550 to 900. No idea on the worth of your M1, sorry.

Manufacturer matters for the P38 too... Can't quite see due to resolution, but it looks like a CYQ (Spreewerke). Still, if matching all around, bore is good, mag is original and waffenampts are clear I'd venture $700 or so.

The cut bolt handle is unfortunate as it diminishes the value of the carbine. I'll leave it to others to proffer an opinion.

Thanks all for helping me out.
Spoke with my friend and he said the P38 is a Walther(pre Spreewerke)
It is not a Russian re-work.
He said all numbers match on the Walther.
I'll have him check the stock on the carbine also to see if it is marked.
I'm going to get some more pics and will post them,so I am absolutely sure what I am getting.

I don't think it's a cyq as they didn't stamp the year. I can't make out the stamp but I can tell there is a year under it. Maybe 43?
In which case AC or byf

If the NDP or Lie-berals get in, just remember, it's worth Nothin'. Zilch, Nada, Zero.

The "What's it Worth" Thread under a Justin or Tom Government will have the unwashed masses playing the game "Ask a CGN Know it all Gorilla" Pounding their Chests offering Lowball Values this time a round.

It's really just the Flavour of the Day.

Winchester m1 carbines allways seem to sell for a bit more $$ don't know why plenty were made

mixmaster m1 carbines go these days from 400-700 so we need to know if it was all Winchester parts every part of the gun will have a marking on it the cut handle on the oprod will hurt value

Typical late war P38's are still common.

I've seen some dealers and seller asking $800-$900 but they don't seem to sell.

A nice common one is probably worth only about $500-$650 up here.

Salty examples or RC's are worth considerably less.
