I should get my two Enfield No. 2 Revolvers next week so I bought some .38 S&W Target to try out in them. I also located 8 rounds that are thought to be 380 cartridges that they also take.

I was hoping someone could verify this for me. They don't really look like surplus to me, but I'm not very familiar with handgun ammo.

The brass cartridge on the left in the first photo is the round in question. The head is stamped 'DC 53 380'. Next to it is the .38 S&W Winchester Target ammo.

And don't worry...I don't plan on firing them. I just wondered if it was vintage and worth holding on to.

I've never seen a DC 53 .380 cartridge before you posted this photo.
Anyway, that is the correct cartridge for Enfield revolvers.
.38 S&W target ammunition? Target?
At any rate, the Winchester's bullet is much lighter than the issue projectile. The ammunition fits, but zero may be off.

Yeah. The Winchester looks like a cast bullet. Its named target.

The winchester bullet is 140 gr. I also thought it would be lighter after comparing them and seeing its much smaller size.

So what is this DC 53 ammo? Webley? 380 Enfield? Any clue who made it and how old it is?

I would assume that it is Dominion Cartridge, 1953.
It is the correct issue ammunition for issue Webleys, and Enfields. I believe that the bullet is 178gr., fmj, of course.
