I have a well used but great little Remington Model 7 SS in 308. It has reached the point where I want to do my own custom paint job on the entire gun, scope and all.

I am wondering what kind of paint would be sufficient to use. I am not looking to win any awards here but will be experimenting with at least two colours and want to see how good of a job I can do myself. Are there any commonly used paints that would work for this job? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Art

Krylon, Canuck tire. likely want to do a 3 or 4 colour camo job. practice on something other than your model 7 first like a 2x4 to give you and idea of what your pattern will look like. have fun with it.

I highly recommend ARMACOAT !

I just came back from doing my shotgun Armacoat-black - It is an extremely durable finish and looks great too. PICS Coming this afternoon ;)

It's more involved as it is an epoxy (remember I said durable) but if you want a finish that will last a long time and resist scratching, etc., Armacoat is it.

I have been to Bits of Pieces in Langley (BC) with a buddy and seen quite an assortment of treatments both to stocks and guns. You might give Barry a shout or hook up to his website info@bitsofpieces.com. This guy is into some really interesting weirdness and deals with the precision crowd. Check it out.
Not my bag but lots of people getting him to treat their babies.
