I've had a 4.5 x 1.5 one inch Burris for many years, having bought it used from a "friend." It never worked right as the X hairs would not move. I set it aside thinking that I had screwed up. Well, I tried it again forgetting where I got it. No joy, same old problem. Burris was a quality scope maker. Loon past any warrantee. still would like to have it fixed.

The other scope is a Bushnell Sport View, 1.5 X 4.5, an inexpensive scope which also can no longer used because the X hairs will not move.

So, any suggestions as to who in Canada could perhaps look t them?

Thanks

I have a Redfield that needs some attention and made a somewhat similar inquiry about scope repairs through a local guy that deals in scopes at local gun shows. I haven't sent it in yet but the following contact info is what he gave me as possible solution.

Hey guys. Just to let you know, Trace Scope Repair is no longer at the New Norway address. They have moved to 8-20 Panatella Blvd. NW Calgary, Alberta. T3KOA1. P.O. Box 33009. Phone 403-295-1534. Reason I know this is, I just got a couple parts from them for my old Weaver KV scope just this week. Ask for Phil. Great guy. He will help you out.

I had an old Denver Redfield 4x with a broken reticle repaired by them, I think it was about $60. Took a few months.

So $60 for the repair, plus $15 each way for shipping brings a guy to $90 worth of work for a $140 scope, that has already failed once. Sounds like a good investment.

Yeah, it was. It belonged to a neighbour that passed away, he gave it to me years ago. It suits my Marlin 444P perfectly.

Next time I'l be sure to ask your permission on what I can spend my money. Until then, GFY. :)

I never said you needed my permission. From a logical and financial standpoint, fixing those pieces of Sh!t is dumb, but its your money to waste so drive on.
