Help with a scope desicion

Hi all,

Looking at a couple of mid range scopes and looking for some feedback.
It will be mounted on a Remington 700 .308 20" barrel 1/10 twist in a Cadex Field Strike chassis with 20 moa built in.
I usually shoot 100 to 900 yards and want a mil/mil scope with first focal plane.
I've never owned any of the brands below but they are seem to get good reviews.

Any insight is appreciated.

Viper PST 6-24x50 FFP EBR-2C (MRAD) Reticle - PST-43128
Viper PST 4-16×50 FFP EBR-1 MRAD - PST-416F1-M
Sightron SIIISS 6-24X50 LRFFP/MH
 
Big fan of my Sightron III.

Why the hubbub on the zero stop? I've never quite understood. Do you stop it back to 100 yards? If so, what's the point of that?

Zero stop helps if you want to go from long distances to short distances really quick without worrying about going below your zero. i.e 900 to 100
Once you have to do more than on rev to adjust for elevation, zero stops make it much easier to come back to your 100 yards zero, or whatever you set it at without going below it or not getting to it.

Zero stops are great for when you go out far one trip and forget to reset back to yer zerod setting afterwards. Next time ya. Go to the range cranker till she stops at your zero. Then boom dial in dope for what ever your going to shoot next. No need to waste ammo tryna get on target.

To the op, my rem in 308 has a vortex 6-24 with the moa reticle. I prefer moa to mrad but whichever you go with make sure the reticle and dials are in the same unit. That goes for any scope. No sense in havving to mess around making conversions when systems exist that solve the math for ya.
 
Looks like your budget doesn't go much over $1000. Keep in mind the Bushnell 6-24 has very limited internal adjustment. The Sightrons have it and its glass beat for about the same price. This year I'm using a Bushnell DMR 3.5-21X50 and so far I love it. The glass is incredible, it seems to track great but to be honest I haven't shot a box with it so I can't say its perfect. Given Bushnell's reputation I have no doubts. They've got plenty of internal adjustment to get a .308 past 1000 yds without using the reticle. However they start at around $1500 but you can find them on sale for a little over a grand. Tomochan did a good review on one and really liked it. Of the models you posted I'd most definitely pick Sightron over the Bushnell 6-24 and Vortex offerings.

Understandable. But all scopes can be "zeroed" at a distance. Loosen the turret screw and set it. You just crank it back. I guess the zero stop allows you to not look when you do it.

Not really ground breaking tech. ;)

Ya I know that but with scope without a zero stop, when you remove the cap and line it up for the 0 on the line, the turrent can still be turned lower than that 0 number.
The zero stop doesn't allow you to go below the 0 you set.

Try it with your scope. If there is no zero stop, i bet you can go lower than what you have zeroed at.
When you are doing fast follow up shots in competitions and under stress and coming down 2 or 3 full revs of your scope, having the 0 stop is a huge benefit.
