Hey, I have been looking at getting a .22lr Savage bolt action. I see BRJ, BTV, BTVLSS, BTVS, BV etc etc etc.

what is the difference between these? I see some with stainless, some with thumbhole laminate, some with blued etc.

Seems like they all come with accutriggers.

thanx.

PS, I would like a heavy barrel, accutrigger, laminate stock

I strongly suggest you look at the BTV then, it is an excellent stock design.

If you get one with the accutrigger (and I suggest you do) it's easy to tune it.

I cut my springs like this guy did http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=227014 but didn't bother with the polishing except for taking the burr off of the holes.

He used a plastic shim but I procured some titanium ones that are an exact fit so if you need them pm me and I'll mail you a couple.

Mine breaks like glass now and there is zero creep. Took me about an hour because I was cutting the spring bit by bit and disassembled/reassembled it 5 or 6 times but it's easy and well worth it.

thanx for the useful info guys! I knew it would come up.

and yea, I did look at the Savage website, in hopes that there would be some explaination of each model and its differences. IE: "this rifles comes with ### feature" and this one doesn't. Acutally quite disappointing in that regard, hence the question.

07blackwater, I will message you when I finally get one.

Fiddle with the savage site a bit, you can select parameters under 'firearms' then 'gun finder'.

You can then check the boxes for caliber and features like '22 lr' and 'accutrigger '

Then it will list the guns that come with those options. I messed up before when I said gun browser because I hadn't been to the site in a while, it's gun finder you want.

Cheers.
