Any members of Oshawa heading out to the rifle range this morning familiar with sighting in an ar, I'm new with it and some assistance would be appreciated, I'm hoping to sight in my iron sights and a scope if time permits.
Thanks

It's pretty simple if you don't own a bore sighter.

- Remove upper from lower
- Remove charging handle and BCG
- Set upper on a leveled bench rest
- Stand behind the receiver and sight down the bore at a target so that it is centered
- Adjust sights so that they align with the sight picture in the bore
- Replace charging handle, bcg and upper to lower
- Fire a round, note the hit and fine tune sights

If you have a red dot sight and have sighted in your iron sights.

- Mount RDS on rifle (if not already done)
- Turn on RDS
- Adjust windage/elevation so that they align with your iron sights
- Fire a round, note the hit and fine tune accordingly

If your RDS is nicely sighted in, you may need to tweek your iron sights once more since they're not as precise as your RDS. In the end, they should cowitness nicely. Should you need to replace your BUIS, you can sight the new ones in using your RDS and if you have to remove your RDS for some reason (change mounts or new sight etc) then you use your BUIS to realign your new RDS.

Just play with them. If your rear sight has windage and elevation, you're going to want to move the sight the direction you want the bullet to go. Up for up, down for down, and same with left and right. If your rear sight only has windage, then you're going to need to adjust your front sight for elevation. Which in case, the up and down flip. You have to raise your front sight to drop your bullet and vice versa. Windage is still the same. Most scopes now-a-days are setup that you move the bullet impact. If you need to go up and right, adjust your scope up and right. You have to get used to them so if there is any future changes, you know what to adjust.
