Help with Browning BAR

Its sitting in my safe. It is a model with the adjustable gas port, someone had been adjusting the gas port, and got it wrong. Other than that, waiting on a few more brands and loads of ammo to run through it before I am 100% certain that was the only issue.

cant wait to hear your final report and tries.

The Mk3s have a simple screw adjustment. It is usually loctited, but if you #### with it odd things can happen.

Try around 2:30.

Check out the link a few posts back

^That link? I see what the gentleman is saying in the video, but IIRC the rifle in question was a 2005 vintage?

When I had it at my gunsmith his suggestion was to try various ammo & there was no discussion on the adjustable gas block (which I had no idea it had). I'd never have had sold it if I knew I could adjust the gas system to get it running... Hence me wanting a pic of this rifle's adjustable gas block...

Yes... we are all waiting for a picture from the present owner, Dosing.

Dosing - if you are unable to post a picture please contact me, I will post it. Dennis

Lol, rifle and I are in two different provinces currently. The gas block is the same except the screw is on the left hand side of the gas block, with red loctite on it. I ran the year of mfg, i thought (could be wrong) it was 13 years old.
I you want it back Jay just let me know.

Never seen a Sauer Model 303 jam except one in caliber 8x57mm Mauser. Never, ever seen a Voere 2185 jam with proper ammo. I think both of these rifles slightly overgassed as brass ejection is lively.

and never seen an hk semi auto in 7x64 jamming as well and i tried hard ... i do remember my dad saying some semi auto needed small dies set to work better but it was not the case of his.

for anyone else dealing with newer BARs I am going to leave this link, its not like all BARs but shows the gas block etc, and is honestly one of the best takedown videos on newer BARs
