Hello CGN,
Hoping someone can help me with a problem with my fairly new Browning BL-22 rear flip up sight. Took it to the range yesterday and found it did not lock positively in the "up" position-it kinda flops around. I have not dropped the rifle or damaged the sight. Ive got some penetrating oil on it to see if it frees it up. Looks fairly simple but Im at a loss as to whats happened .
Thanks,
SM

Most likely the metal spring under the sight leaf is missing or bent beyond use.

That what i was thinking may have happened or the possibly that small metal spring plate has cracked. I called Browning Canada early in the week and they said they would try and get one out to me but might take 3 to 4 weeks to arrive. When removing this rear sight would you drift from left to right as towards ejection port side?

Guys just an update to this; Browning sent me a new rear site that works properly. No problem getting the old one out-new one was a little tight going in but all fixed good as new.
Thanks for your input,
sm
