Hi,

Recently purchased a Colt LE6920 Socom. Can't decide between a recitle or magnified scope. I have up to $700 to spend on either one including the mount.

Consider this one hoping someone can guide me in the right direction. I want this to be used for close quaters but still be able to reach out and touch something at 100y easily.

Thanks T

Well if you're willing to spend the extra $15, wolverine supplies has the Burris MTAC (the next step up from the LR you're looking at) which is a magnified 1-4x24mm with their Ballistc CQ reticle, kind of like a red-dot but it has BDC capability, technically good up to 600 yards. This optic also comes with a mount and the Burris Fastfire 3 red-dot reflex sight, good for close engagements. Considering it myself for my Norinco M305.

Leupold has their 1.25-4x20mm VX-R Patrol series as well, they'll run you $730+, features their Fire-Dot reticle. Does not include mount, so something to consider with budget restrictions.

Vortex makes the Viper PST 1-4x24 TMCQ with MRAD Reticle, it runs about $550.

Wolverine supplies also has a few budget line optics like the Hi-Lux CMR Tactical, they run about $320.

There are others like Bushnell, Weaver, etc. They all have similar style optics.
